STEM Teaching Kits have been used across the country in classrooms from grades K-10, in after-school programs, and summer camps. The curricula is designed to increase youth's understanding of science, technology, and engineering through compelling issues that they can relate to. Youth are given the challenge to design and construct devices that apply what they have learned about science. They design motion-generated electric lights for developing countries, solar powered vehicles for mass transportation, and insulated dwellings for penguin-shaped ice cubes or color-changing penguins.
